Start with your power budget. Add up what your fridge, lights, chargers and pumps draw over a typical day, then size your battery so it covers a couple of days without charge. Lithium LiFePO4 batteries have become the popular choice for touring because they are lighter than AGM and can be drawn down further without damage.

What size battery do I need for touring?

It depends on your appliances and how long you camp without driving. A compressor fridge is usually the main draw. As a starting point, tally your daily amp hours and allow a buffer, or call our Burwood team on 03 9808 8966 and we will size it with you.

Why choose a LiFePO4 battery?

LiFePO4 batteries are lighter than traditional AGM, tolerate deeper discharge and generally last more charge cycles. Models with Bluetooth also let you check state of charge from your phone, which takes the guesswork out of managing power at camp.

Can Complete 4x4 install my dual battery system?

Yes. Our Burwood workshop designs and installs dual battery and charging systems, including battery mounting, wiring and solar inputs. We can also ship components Australia-wide if you are building the system yourself.
