Choosing the right lift kit
Springs and shocks are tuned for what your 4x4 carries all the time. A bull bar, winch, canopy or drawer system adds constant weight, and the right kit accounts for it. TJM builds the XGS range in Remote, Roamer and Rugged versions so the kit can match how much gear you run and how hard you tour. Tell us your accessory setup and we will recommend the right one.
Lift height is regulated. Most states allow a modest suspension lift without engineering approval, but the rules differ by state and any increase in tyre size counts towards your total lift. A properly engineered kit also keeps electronic stability control and braking behaviour predictable. We check what is legal for your vehicle and state before you commit.
The kits on this page are model specific, covering the D-MAX and BT-50 from 2020 onwards, the Next-Gen Ranger and the Hilux from 2015 onwards. Book a wheel alignment after fitting, and if you are close to your payload limit ask us about a GVM upgrade.
Lift kit FAQs
How much lift is legal on my 4x4?
It depends on your state, and any change in tyre size is counted together with the suspension lift. Many states allow around 50mm of total lift without engineering approval, but the rules vary. We will confirm what is allowed for your vehicle before you order.
What is the difference between the XGS Remote, Roamer and Rugged kits?
Each kit in the TJM XGS range is tuned for a different level of load and use. The more accessories and touring weight you carry, the further up the range you should look. Give us your setup and we will match the kit to it.
